I'm hoping the time trials will be a tad more lenient now. Can anyone who's already played through the Drone Racing mode in LJ share their experience? Honestly though, just like you the thing I'm not looking forward to is the bloody crafting of every drone part. Racing is something fun at least, crafting is just the worst mechanic in games. To make matters worse, the Robotics Club minigame also has its own crafting system.

Gaia posted Getting first on champion's league was enough to get the time trials completed for me. I didn't have to do any more races after finishing all the gps. The crafting is also really easy because you can buy everything. Robotics is the grind as you can't buy a lot of the stuff. Naughty Dog is the king of intrusive microtransactions. You will have to grind a little bit just to upgrade your robots a little, but you can win matches against stronger opponents up to a point if you try to get the instant win conditions. You probably didn't play it yet, but you need to retrieve and place blocks on a map with robots. There's a timer, so the team with the most blocks laid down wins, but you can instantly win the match if you build a path into the opponent's main base.
