I have managed to set up the virtual networking following a number of guides but basically NIC 1 is untouched and is a fixed IP connected to the network and I use that to connect for management purposes. NIC 2 is setup as the virtual switch with a virtual vetwork connected to it. I then create a virtual machine using an ISO image that we use to clone out workstations. XP SP2. I tell it to use the virtual network and the image builds and starts and does everything I would expect it to do apart from connect to the network.
